sketchland! Hello, and welcome to the Content Universe! In today’s little brief, I’m going to talk a little bit about how I repurpose this podcast episode. So, the podcast episode that you’re actually listening to right now and also all of the other episodes that is in this podcast show. My name is Mikkel Svold, and I have the pleasure of being the owner and founder of Montanus which is a content production agency? That’s the word? Content Agency? Where we produce content for mostly high-knowledge or complex companies or companies selling something that’s really complex, so scientifically or engineering wise. Now those of you who know who I am and who know what we do at Montanus, they would also recognize that we do love repurposing. I really find it a little bit terrifying how, or a little bit weird, that’s probably a better word, so a little bit weird, how much content is produced out there that is never repurposed in any way. Because the thing is producing the big piece of content is often the hard part. So producing a video, producing a podcast episode, producing a blog post for that sake, with interviews, and all that entails, that is often the hard bit. But, when you take that piece of content and then turn it into something else, well first of all even if you do it by human only methods, that is so much easier, because you already have something to work with and it’s just you already know the quality is going to be good because of the quality of the original post. Now with the introduction of AI, obviously the repurposing can go berserk, because you can now repurpose content in hundreds of different ways nearly just by flicking a switch. Of course it’s not entirely true, but it’s pretty close. So today I’m going to talk about how I repurpose this podcast episode and just so you can get an idea of what you can get out from just even having a daily briefing like this one is. It’s just basically me sitting down looking at what I’ve been doing today and then trying to dig out some learnings from that that could probably be of the benefit to you. Hopefully. Let me know if not, or let me know if it is. Now anyway, so when this podcast episode is out, so when I first of all, the way that I record it, you should know, is instead of having a big podcast setup. The way that I record this one is just on my mobile phone. You can probably hear that the sound is not the perfect podcast sound, but it’s still pretty okay and having the podcast. Here, it’s actually not the main purpose. The main purpose of the podcast is to extrapolate some of them, some of the knowledge and some of the experience that I have. And then having a quick way of getting it into a content production circle, a whole flow. So once I press done on this recording, I will quickly just, from my phone, upload it directly to the podcast players out there with a name or a title and a description, and that’s it. Off it goes, and then what happens when I do that? So I’ve set up an automation in a program called make, make.com. I can really recommend you look into that. It’s a little bit complicated at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s just a really neat tool for integrating all kinds of fun things together. So what happens is that I send it off. And now the idea is that this podcast episode should become a podcast on YouTube. No video though, but a podcast on YouTube. I can always add video later if it’s just a huge success with this daily checkin. I’ll just do that later on. But for now, this is good. So a sound podcast on YouTube, it will become show notes on my website. So that means the notes from whatever we’re talking about today, including potential links, it could be a table of content with timestamps on it. So that will be on my website. So that’s a piece of content on my website where you could also, of course, press play on this recording. Maybe is there, maybe this is actually where you found it. I don’t know, because of course now when you hear this, all of this has already happened. Now it will also become a blog post on my website. And last but not least, it will become social media posts on my personal profiles, but also on my company profiles. And that’d be social media posts as in it could be text-only posts. But it can also be, say, graphics with quotes on or with statements or something like that. It can maybe also be short sound clips. So all of this is what this one episode becomes and this happens for all of the episodes. And the reason why I’m pretty confident that it happens for all of the episode is because in large, I have actually automated a lot of this using this software, make.com. Now, what happens is that I’ve set up an automation that overlooks the what’s called an RSS feed, so the feed of the podcast. So whenever there’s a new podcast coming up available, it will automatically transcribe the podcast and then from the transcription, I will automatically send it through the API, send it over to chat.gpt, that will then write show notes based on that transcription. So that will write a short introduction, it will probably give it a name it will, you’ll find out what are the interesting bullets for a table of content and then associate the timestamps with that as well. And then of course it will, in the end, it will attach the full transcription to the show notes, which is quite customizable to do that. So, best practice force, what I was looking for was best practice to do that in the show notes. Now, once you have the transcription, what you can also do is you can also ask chatgpt in another chat so to say, you can ask it to go through the transcription and then turn the transcription into a blog post. Adding the appropriate headers, deleting all the fluff, all these different small words that are just basically because of spoken language. Delete all of that. Clean it up a lot. Maybe write something extra to underscore specific points. Maybe you can also ask it to take direct quote to underscore points that it has turned into regular text or regular body copy. So all of this, you can ask chatTBT to do. And then once it’s done with that, you can set up an automatic posting or you can set up to automatically post on your website. And I’ve done that on my websites on WordPress website. So it’s pretty easy because WordPress often integrates with a lot of different of these softwares. Obviously, if you have some obscure or some very specific, very high-end software, you might not be able to do this automatically. But even just having it push out the text in a Word document of your SharePoint server is still going to be such a shortcut for you. And then, of course, the last bit is that again, once it has the transcription, what I’ve asked it to do is to look through the transcription to see if it can find good statements. It’ll come up with or find good quotes, something that’s funny. Find, you know, bulleted lists, you know. Summarize whatever is said. All of these kinds of things. And then do it in a tone that matches my personal writing tone or tone of voice. And then, of course, produce social media posts. And actually I’ve set it up, so it goes directly into my social media content manager tool, which is called social be, and I can put a links in the description for all of this. But that’s my setup. So basically when I hit publish on this recording that I have here, all of this sets in motion automatically. And within I would probably guess half an hour, I have all of this at the ready. None of it is publishing automatically because everything that comes out of AI, in my opinion, everything that comes out of AI, as of now, needs human eyes before hitting publish because the quality is still not quite good enough. The tone of voice is still not quite precise enough or just it lacks the personality. Just slightly. And sometimes also you just disagree with what it kind of pulled out of the interview or in this case, the little talk here. So you just disagree whether it’s a good social media post or not so you are just go delete it. So all of this happens obviously enough obviously, if you do graphic design by mail merging basically, text into a preset design, you would also probably have to adjust the design just a little bit. So you can’t go all automatic on it, but it’s pretty damn close. Now, this is what happens when I press publish on this podcast. And this was just a little peek into how I repurpose podcast episodes and why I would say that is super important for everyone out there to repurpose whatever content that it is that you are creating because there’s no reason why not to basically. It’s such an easy way of doubling, or tripling, or quadrupling your amount of content without compromising on quality at all. Just make sure the initial interview or the initial recording is high end and it brings along something intelligent. So, with that, I really do hope that you found this just a little bit inspiring so I’m not… so I can check my own box of being somewhat intelligent at what I talk about. Now, I can’t promise you that always. Sorry about that. But for now, I hope it works. I think that’s it for today. I’ll see you around.
